Competition Classes
Whether you’re a serious vegetable grower or just want to show off the produce you’ve grown, there is a class for all. You can also have a bit of fun by entering the misshapen vegetable! Vegetable creature creations are great fun for kids and help them develop creativity and appreciate freshly grown produce. We also have 60 classes for children from pre-school to under 16’s.
Dont forget there is a deadline for entry forms – you can bring them along to the Folk Hall on Saturday 18 JuLy between 10.00 and 3.00 OR take to the Flower Show Field on Monday 20th or Tuesday 21st between 10.00 and 7.00pm.

You can download the 2026 Competition Class Schedule here or you can purchase one for £1 from Carey’s, Bertie’s Pet Shop, The Poacher, Elements on the Marina and Brackenwood Garden Centre. Entry for the actual classes is free, this is a change from previous years. We are also no longer paying out prize money to adults, however we are still paying prize money to children and this is kindly been sponsored by Sarah Pogson of Velcron Accounting.
Have you been inspired by Gardeners World, Kirstie’s Handicrafts or The Great British Bake Off? Then why not enter one of the competitive classes at the Show.
We have over 300 classes for Horticulture, Floral Art, Handicrafts, Cookery, Photography, Art with some new classes for this year including painted Warhammer exhibits and Miniature Exhibits.
We have lots of classes for children to enter from pre-school up and to encourage you please see the feedback we received from the parent of a child who entered the Show
” It is always the highlight of the 1st week of the summer holidays, a chilled week with the craft box out for my daughter to use her imagination and to get creative. The excitement of the morning to go into the Show tent to see how she has got on it is almost like her face on Christmas Day. Winning a rosette and some money is always a memory my daughter will cherish…. “
You do not have to be an expert as we have novice sections and we have had novices win in a Open class in the past, it all depends on the quality of the exhibit on the day!
