The future of our local Show is in your hands – the local people of Portishead!
The Portishead Summer Show is the major event in the town’s calendar, attracting 4,000 to 5,000 visitors over the two days. It is a great opportunity for local businesses to show their support for this much valued community event in addition to promoting their business.
The Show costs in excess of £35,000 to stage and the organisation and manual work for the Show is all done by members of the committee and volunteers, and is supported by the members of the Portishead Horticultural Society. We do need financial support in order to ensure the continuity of the Show. Details of how you can support the Show are provided below.

Other ways you can help
- Become a Patron or Business Patron – this gives you free entry to the Show and details of patronage included on the website and other social media outlets.
- You can visit the Show – a family of 4 can currently visit the Show for £16.00! – if paid in advance (£20 on the gate)
- Become a member of the Society for just £25.00 – this gives you free entry to the Show at any time and the opportunity to attend the monthly members evenings with talks from gardening experts as well as the chance to enter the Members only classes.
- Become a Volunteer – Every year we rely on the help of our volunteers who work in all sorts of capacities and we welcome new volunteers to help with: Selling tickets and stewarding the gates, stewarding in the car park or marquees during the Show, setting up the Show and clearing tables and chairs at the end of the Show.
