It’s the feeling. That unmistakable sense that, for a weekend, life slows down just enough for us to remember what really matters: community. Children dart between stalls with painted faces, friends reconnect by the arena. Someone, somewhere, is fiercely defending their Victoria sponge… It’s community in its purest form. And if you pause for a moment, you’ll notice something else – movement. Dancing, walking, cheering, lifting, playing’ our bodies doing what they were beautifully designed to do. “What a fabulous time we had at the show. We enjoyed looking at all the show entries from the flowers to the fruit and veg and all the lovely pictures, miniature gardens and displays created by the children. Lots of stalls of all different types and the refreshment tent provided us with a lovely tea and cake. The main arena seemed to be full of entertainment all day and to top it off we won a nice little prize on the raffle. You’ve got to be in it to win it. See you all there next year. “We had a wonderful afternoon on Saturday. The quality of the entries in the different sections were amazing! My husband particularly loved the fruit ‘pictures’ by the children. I think it was a tangerine octopus that took his fancy. I loved the pineapple dinosaur – it was great. We met lots of lovely people some we knew and some we do now. My favourite event of the year. “Just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work that goes on in the background to make this Show happen. It is always the highlight of the 1st week of the summer holidays, a chilled week with the craft box out for my daughter to use her imagination and to get creative. The excitement of the morning to go into the Show tent to see how she has got on it is almost like her face at Christmas. Winning a rosette and some money is always a memory my daughter will cherish….’
